Anthony Biglan is an internationally recognized leader in prevention science and the development of community strategies that promote the well-being of children, families, and communities. For more than four decades, Dr. Biglan’s research and advocacy have advanced evidence-based approaches to preventing substance use, antisocial behavior, violence, academic failure, and mental and physical health problems.
He is a Senior Scientist at Oregon Research Institute and has authored over 200 scientific publications and several influential books, including The Nurture Effect and Rebooting Capitalism. Dr. Biglan has played a prominent role in shaping national prevention policy and has contributed to multiple National Academy of Sciences reports on building a more nurturing society.
Through Values to Action, Dr. Biglan is spearheading efforts to help communities across the U.S. implement comprehensive prevention frameworks that address the root causes of social and behavioral problems—creating environments where everyone can thrive.
